.net.uk

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

.net.uk is a second level domain under the .uk Top Level Domain and forms part of the UK Domain Name System. It is operated by Nominet UK and is subject to a complex set of eligability rules, which essentially require that (a) the registrant is, and remains, an Internet Service Provider or similar and (b) that the domain name is not used for providing services to customers or end users. There are fewer than 600 .net.uk registrations, as .net.uk has remained strongly chartered, unlike its global equivalent .net which was originally given a similar charter but latterly was opened up to all registrants.

The rules are on Nominet UK's website.
