Amyl nitrate

Amyl nitrate is used medically to treat angina.

The drug amyl nitrite (or poppers) is often referred to as amyl nitrate. The two are in fact different substances.

Amyl nitrate is also useful as an antidote to cyanide poisoning.

Street names for butyl nitrate: bullet, Jac blaster, heart on, aroma of man, locker room and rush.
