Ashley's Hundred

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

Ashley's Hundred refers to the men who responded to the flyer, "To Enterprising Young Men: The Subscriber wishes to engage One Hundred men to ascend the River Missouri to its source to be employed for one, two, or three years . . ."

The flyer was a recruitment for the first of several fur-trapping expeditions to the Rocky Mountains organized by W. H. Ashley and Andrew Henry.
