Bomb ketch

A bomb ketch was a type of wooden sailing ship with two masts. Its primary armament was not cannons (long guns and carronades), but rather mortars mounted forward near the bow. Useful for assaulting fixed positions on land. An awkward vessel to handle in terms of seamanship.
