Boz

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

Boz was an early pen name of Charles Dickens, and the name under which he published his first work, Sketches by Boz. The name came from "the nickname of a pet child, a younger brother, whom I had dubbed Moses, in honor of The Vicar of Wakefield, which, being pronounced Bozes, got shortened into Boz."

The Boz was/is the nickname of the former football player and sometime actor Brian Bosworth.

The bass guitarist Boz Burrell was credited on at least one album simply as Boz.
