Deauville

Deauville is a commune of the département of Calvados, in the Basse-Normandie région, in France. Its postal code is 14800. The INSEE code is 14220.
With its racecourses, its port, its marina, its conference center, its villas, its casinos and its sumptuous hotels, Deauville is regarded as the queen of the Norman beaches.
In the 1860s visits by Napoleon III made the coast of Normandy adjacent to Deauville fashionable, and soon speculators developed the infrastructure necessary to accommodate members of the Imperial court and the growing Parisian bourgeoisie.
