Eyepiece lens
From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.
In a telescope, the length and shape of the tube aligns the light and adjusts the focus for the viewer. The objective lens, located at the far end (from the viewer) of the telescope, adjusts the angle of the image to make focus possible, and also provides magnification. The light then passes through a focal point, where the light meets and the image inverts. Finally, the eyepiece lens, located at the near end of the telescope, directs the light to the viewer and may provide additional magnification.
