The National Liberation Front (French: Front de Libération Nationale, Arabic: Jabha al Tahrir al Watani) is a socialist political party in Algeria. It received 34.3% of the vote in the 2002 elections and has 199 members of parliament.
The party is led by General Secretary Ali Benflis.
It was set up on November 1, 1954 as a merger of other smaller groups, to obtain independence for Algeria from France. After independence, it became the sole legal party until the late 80's, when the constitution was amended to allow a multiparty system.
