Tauric Chersonesos, Greek Χερσονασος (Chersones, Khersones, Russian: Херсонec) was the Greek settlement founded approximately 2500 years ago in the southwestern part of Crimean (Taurian) Peninsula. Its ruins are presently located in the suburbs of Sevastopol.
