Late-term abortion
From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.
Late-term abortions are abortions which are performed during the late stages of pregnancy, often in the third trimester. Late-term abortions are more apt to be controversial because the fetus is much closer to full development and viability than in the first and second trimesters.
The United States Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade imposed more restrictions on abortions in the third trimester than those in the earlier stages.
