List of places with fewer than ten people

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

This is a list of places on Earth with a permanent population of fewer than ten people. Some may be (almost) deserted, and others may be places where people work, but do not live.

This list is currently biased towards places in the United States of America due to an artifact of Wikipedia history. The addition of places with similarly low population in other nations is welcome.

  • France: 1999 census
  • Spain: 2002 figures from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística
  • United States: generally census-designated places with data of 2000
  • Canada: 1996 census from statistics Canada (Note: due to rounding to protect confidentiality, communities with fewer than 15 people in 2001 are rounded to nearest multiple of 5, and therefore figures from the 2001 census are not accurate). Also note: List does not include Indian reservations, Indian settlements, or other native settlements, nor "Unorganized Areas and Improvement Districts" in Canada, due to the large number of places with fewer than 9 people in Canada under these categories.
