Mitch Daniels
Mitchell Elias Daniels, Jr. (born April 7, 1949 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania) is an American politician (of the Republican Party) from the state of Indiana. From January 2001 through June 2003, he served as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, appointed by President George W. Bush. Prior to that, he had been employed as Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Policy at Eli Lilly and Company. On 2 November 2004, he was elected Governor of Indiana, defeating a tough and popular incumbent Joe Kernan.
