Taishan(泰山) is a mountain in Tai'an, Shandong, China. The peak is the 1,545m high Jade Emperor Peak. It is one of the "five sacred mountains of China," the several temples have been target for pilgrimage for 2000 years.

The peak is accessible by bus from the foot to the Midway Gate To Heaven, and by cable car from there. Alternately, 6600 stone steps lead up the mountain. The trek takes at least two hours to the Midway Gate To Heaven, and two hours from there to the summit. All supplies are carried from the base or midway to the many vendors along the path.

It has been a UN world heritage site since 1987.

As Shan is Chinese for Mountain, it is more correctly called Mount Tai in English.
