Myron Floren

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

Myron Floren (born November 5, 1919 in Webster, South Dakota) is best known as being the accordionist on The Lawrence Welk Show.

He was apparently very highly regarded by Welk, who was a very accomplished accordion player in his own right, and generally seemed to function as Welk's principal assistant and second-in-command, although whether this was true off-stage could perhaps be questioned. Floren later operated a theatre in the mountain tourist town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee which featured his music and occasionally that of other Welk regulars, and has been seen in a hosting role of repeats of The Lawrence Welk Show on PBS.
