Peter Robinson (novelist)

Peter Robinson (born 1950) is an English-born, Canadian-based crime writer.

Born in Yorkshire in 1950, he studied at the University of Leeds before emigrating to Canada in 1974. He obtained an MA from the University of Windsor and a PhD from York University in Toronto. He is best known for his detective novels set in Yorkshire and featuring Inspector Alan Banks, the first of which was published in 1987. He has also published a number of other novels and short stories, as well as some poems and two articles on writing.
