Rick Mears

Rick Mears (born December 3, 1951) is an American race car driver. He is one of three men to win the Indianapolis 500 four times (1979, 1984, 1988, 1991). Mears is also a 3-time Champcar national champion (1979, 1981 and 1982) and is the only driver to win 6 pole positions at the Indy 500. He raced for owner Roger Penske his entire Indy car career and retired from racing in 1992.
In 1997, he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
