River Country

River Country is a waterpark built in 1976 that is located on the grounds of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It has been closed since 2000-2001 and is likely scheduled for demolition. It is unknown why the park has been shut down to the public, but rumors suggest pollution in a nearby lake may be led to the park's closing. Also, River Country had significantly lower visitor rates than the other two water parks in the vicinity, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
River Country was styled much like Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom area of Disneyworld. It tended to be a lot more old-fashioned and harkened back to the 19th century in its decoration.
