Rotunda

A rotunda is a term frequently applied to any large round building, often covered by a dome. It can also refer to a round room within a building (a famous example being within the US Capitol). The Pantheon in Rome is a famous rotunda. Several cities have buildings referred to as "the Rotunda", among them:

• The Rotunda (Birmingham)
• The Rotunda (Dublin)
• The Rotunda (University of Virginia)

In Geometry, the Pentagonal rotunda is a polyhedral solid formed from half an icosidodecahedron.
