Santo Tirso

Santo Tirso (Parish) is a city and municipality located in the north of Porto Metropolitan Area, Oporto District, Portugal. In the Ave Valley, there is a large center of textile industry.

The city population is 14000 (last 2001 census), the urban area of the city with 7 parishes has 26638. Total municipality (Concelho) population is 73000 in 24 parishes.

Another important center in the municipality is Vila das Aves.
