Sega CDX

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

The Sega CDX (named the Sega Mega LD in Japan and Multimega in Europe) was a video game console combining the Sega Genesis and Sega CD into one unit, just slightly larger than a portable CD player. The unit could double as a portable CD Player with control buttons (Play, Stop, etc.) on the front of the console as well as a backlit LCD to provide the track number. An extra line out port was provided for stereo equipment. It could be powered by 2 AA batteries for music cds only. The unit must be plugged in to play video games. Sadly, it was never well supported by Sega and died a quiet death much like the portable Sega Nomad.
