Shermy

Shermy was an early character in the comic strip Peanuts, by Charles Schulz. Though he appeared in the first strip, he began to disappear in the 1970s, as he was eclipsed by newer characters who were more developed, such as Linus and Lucy. Shermy's major physical characteristic was his short cropped hair. Shermy plays first base on Charlie Brown's baseball team.
