Siliguri is a town in the North-Eastern region of India, in the state of West Bengal. It is a transit point for road, rail and air transport between the North-Eastern states and neighbouring countries Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Places nearby which make Siliguri a transit point are the New Jalpaiguri railway station and Bagdogra airport. Siliguri is surrounded by hill stations, and lies close to the Himalayan mountains.
