Southampton Institute

Southampton Institute is a University College of 11,000 students based in Southampton, United Kingdom. It was made a University College on 1st November 2004 and, as such, now has the powers to award its own degrees. Formerly, degrees were accredited by Nottingham Trent University. It is also now eligible to be considered for the award of full university title.
Southampton Institute is renowned for its liberal arts education but is best recognized in third world countries as an educational centre for those interested in business. It is also a centre of applied research in design and advanced technology, maritime, fine art, history of collecting, film, media and cultural studies, political and international studies, law and a broad range of business disciplines.
