The Karate Kid, Part II

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

The Karate Kid, Part II (1986) is a Hollywood adventure-drama movie and is a sequel to The Karate Kid. Both Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, formerly of Happy Days fame, respectively reprise their roles of Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi.

Filming locations include the island of Oahu, in Hawaii, USA.

At the 1987 ASCAP Awards, Peter Cetera won Most Performed Songs from Motion Pictures, for the song "Glory of Love", and Bill Conti won Top Box Office Films for the original music.

Part II begins where the first movie ends off, when Mr. Miyagi confronts evil martial arts teacher Kreese (Martin Kove). After a bloody match, a few months later, Miyagi has to go to Okinawa to visit his dying father. He is confronted by his old nemesis Sato (Danny Kamekona), his nephew Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), and his ex-girlfriend and her daughter. Daniel falls in love with the daughter, but has to fight Chozen to protect Miyagi's honor.
