Twix

Twix is a candy bar made by Mars, Inc. The basis of the bar is a caramel-coated cookie finger. Milk chocolate covers the caramel biscuit. Being somewhat smaller in cross section than other candy bars, Twix are typically packaged in pairs. Twix are also made with peanut butter replacing the caramel.
Twix was called Raider in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Finland and the Netherlands for many years before its name was changed in 1991 to match the international brand name. This name change was met with scorn in Germany. The slogan "Raider heißt jetzt Twix, ... sonst ändert sich nix" (engl.: "Raider is now called Twix, ... but thats it") has become a metaphor for botched attempts to make something look more modern by giving it a new, cool name, but miserably failing to do so because the strategy is too obvious, and - as in the case of Twix/Raider - the old name was cooler anyway.
Cultural reference
Twix featured prominently in the plot of an episode of Seinfeld. A hungry George attempts to get Twix from a vending machine. When the machine fails to dispense it, George goes in search of a manager. He returns to find that someone else has eaten the Twix, leading him to stage an elaborate logical trap with the hope of extracting a confession and some replacement Twix. When that, too, fails, George looks skyward and yells "Twix!"
