Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFMI) is an Austin, Texas based natural foods grocer, which, as of 2004, consists of over 150 locations in both the United States and Canada. Its CEO is John Mackey.
Whole Foods is widely known throughout the US for its high quality natural food products, many of which qualify as certified organic. For several years now, the company has ranked favourably on Fortune magazines "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. That being said, Whole Foods has been consistantly cited for workers rights abuses, such as those pertaining to wage, "union busting" tactics, nepotism, and unfair dismissal.
Whole Foods is currently in the midst of an international expansion, with a store in the United Kingdom set to open soon.

Whole Foods scored 54% on the 2004 Corporate Equality Index by the Human Rights Campaign.
