Yelena Baturina

Yelena Nikolayevna Baturina (Еле́на Никола́евна Бату́рина) (born March 8, 1963 in Moscow, Russia, USSR) is a Russian businesswoman.

After graduating from high school, began working at the Fraser plant that both her parents worked at. Soon left for Institute of Economical Problems of All-Around Development of the National Economy. Later got a degree, graduating from the Management Institute. Met her future husband and Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov in the late 1980s, they married in 1991. She also founded her company, Inteco, in 1991. During Luzhkov's years as a mayor, Inteco grew quickly (mostly focused on construction and plastics business). He was accused of corruption because her company was getting municipal contracts. According to Forbes magazine, in 2004 her net worth is more than $1,000,000,000.

She is an equestrianism enthusiast and the president of the Equestrian Federation of Russia. Has two daughters with Luzhkov, Alyona (born 1992) and Olga (born March 1994).
